Three Tips For Headache Relief

Headache relief for the chronic headache sufferer is a mixed bag. Who wants to take pain mediation everyday. Its effectiveness wears off eventually and it is bad for the body.

Natural headache relief remedies are the superior option. These kind of approaches most help the sufferer identify what is causing the headaches in the first place, thereby eliminating any need for pain medication. Here are three strategies you can try.

Get More Magnesium

Increase the amount of magnesium you get for headache relief. First, increase your intake of magnesium-rich foods. You can do this by substituting all your white flour based foods with whole wheat flour.

Romaine lettuce and spinach are other great sources of magnesium. Any leafy green vegetable for that matter. When I feel I need to increase my intake of leafy green vegetables, I prefer to do it through juicing. My favorite concoction is green lemonade. Juice three heads of romaine, 2 apples and one lemon. It’s delicious.

If you are finding it hard to increase your magnesium intake through fresh foods, then you can consider supplements. But remember that nothing can match the real thing. All vitamins are synthetic versions and therefore inferior.

Watch Your Caffeine Intake

For some people, caffeine is the cause of their headaches. This is not the case for everyone, however, so you need to do a little experiment to see if ditching caffeine could bring you the headache relief you are looking.

Try and give up caffeine for about three weeks. It is normal to experience some headaches when withdrawing from caffeine. Those should only last a few days.

Are the headaches gone after a week or so? If so, caffeine may be the culprit. To find out for sure, start drinking caffeine again. Do the headaches come back?

Watch Your Posture

Having bad posture could be the cause of your headaches. Here’s how. A bad posture can put stress on the neck and the back of the head. This tension, day after day, gets stored up in your neck muscles, like electricity gets stored in a battery.

This tension will eventually restrict blood vessels delivering blood to your head, resulting in a headache. Start paying attention to your posture and your neck and back. Perhaps massage is a good way of getting rid of any stress you have in this area.

Give these natural headache relief strategies a try and see if they will help you. You can also visit our site for more tips and strategies.
